somewhere somehow

“Somewhere Somehow” is a series of photographs that combines the portrayed landscapes with the landscape itself. These photographs were taken at the ancient Hill of Tara in County Meath, Ireland and shot on a roll of 35mm film. I boiled and soaked the roll for twenty-four hours in a concoction of plants, water from the River Boyne and various elements found near the grounds of the Hill of Tara. This project was a collaboration with nature, and a way to incorporate the environment in the creative process and let the landscape communicate through the images. For me this process allowed me to relinquish control of the results and embrace the uncertainty that comes with experimenting with alternative techniques.
